Right To Play UK Ambassador James McIlroy wins UK Championships
James McIlroy, who joined Right To Play as an Athlete Ambassador in 2007, won a closely fought race to win the UK Indoor Championships over 1500m in Sheffield on February 9th.
The event also served as the trials for the forthcoming World Indoor Championships in Valencia in March. James, who recently visited a Right To Play project in Liberia (see below), was delighted with the result and said afterwards, "Everything is going according to plan. The 1500m is an unfamiliar distance for me but I am looking forward greatly to competing against the best in the world in Valencia."
He hopes to get close to the British record when he races in Birmingham and Ghent over the coming weeks.
