Right To Play UKRight To Play is an athlete-driven international humanitarian organization that partners with athletes from around the world to bring sport and play to the lives of children affected by war, poverty, disease and illness.
Athletes recognize the value of sport and play and the benefits it can bring to children. Star athletes are the heroes of children as well as entire nations. They are granted special status in society, with a considerable public profile and unique access to decision makers. The partnership between Right To Play and Athlete Ambassadors help reinforce the ideals of the organization and is a great forum for athletes to give back.
Right To Play is supported by hundreds of Olympic and professional athletes who believe in the power of sport to change lives. Right To Play has been garnering the support of these athletes since the 2000 Olympic Summer Games in Sydney, where thousands of athletes signed Right To Play's banner supporting every child's right to play. Today that banner is proudly displayed at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Our Athlete Ambassadors and Supporters support us in a variety of ways, some of which are:
Right To Play Athlete Ambassadors are a unique global team of athletes who have gone above and beyond in their support of Right To Play In turn, Right To Play has recognized their efforts and has offered them a special place on the Athlete team as a Right To Play Athlete Ambassador. The Athlete Ambassadors join us on trips to our projects, they are the face of Right To Play in our ad campaigns and they represent Right To Play at public events and meetings.
Right To Play Athlete Supporters are members of a grassroots movement of athletes who are pivotal in spreading the word of Right To Play and generating interest among the sporting communities and fellow athletes. These athletes promote Right To Play by taking part in awareness efforts, and fundraising campaigns.
