Mo Farrah

Mohammed 'Mo' Farah, was born 23 March 1983 in Mogadishu, Somalia. He moved with his family to the UK when he was 10.

Mo is currently one of Britain's best young international track and field athletes. He competes mainly over 5,000 metres, but also over 3,000 metres and occasionally 1,500 metres as well as competing in cross-country running.

Mo is widely tipped for future medal success and was last year named British male athlete of the year after winning the European Cross Country Championships and winning silver in the 5,000 metres at the European Championships in Gothenburg.

2006 Commonwealth Games - ninth place (5,000m)
2005 European Indoor Athletics Championships - sixth place (3,000m)
