How are Right To Play GREEN?

Global warming and the protection of our environment is a leading issue of concern worldwide. For Right To Play, as an international organisation working in countries that are already seeing dramatic effects of the drastic change in our world's climate, this issue is of paramount importance. That's why we ensure that all of our international charity challenges give back to environmental projects around the world.

Right To Play Charity Challenge Programme "Challenge yourself, change the world"

The Right To Play team, though advocates for the use of sport for development, are also very passionate about looking after the environment. Our charity challenges raise vital funds for our international projects and every year our challenge participants who decide to challenge themselves to change the world, make a huge difference to the lives of children from the most disadvantage communities. It is an incredibly important part of our fundraising in the UK and like everyone who takes part in our events, knowing that our hard work at Right To Play is helping to fund important projects overseas is very important to us. Sadly but inevitably, climate change has the greatest effect on the countries on poorest communities in the world. The issue of climate change and the environment is at the forefront of our minds when planning and running events.

In the most part, we focus on UK-based events, and do our best to minimise our impact on the environment, both locally and globally. We work with challenge companies that are equally passionate about the environment, and all of our challenge participants are issued with a strict code of conduct when they are walking in the UK countryside. On top of that Right To Play pledge to:

  • Donate 5% of our international challenge revenue to environmental projects around the world.
  • From 2009, donate 3% of our national challenge revenue to UK conservation projects.

"I cannot recommend a Right to Play challenge highly enough. The four days I spent with the team were great fun and incredibly challenging, and I made some fantastic new friends, with whom I am still in touch. I'm about to embark on my second Right to Play challenge, in a canoe next time, and cannot wait. Assuming I survive this, I wonder what I'll be doing for the next challenge!?"
